What is REAL sushi?
Hello,guys.
Do you like sushi?
If you like sushi,I am super happy,but unfortunately,most foreign people have never eaten REAL sushi.
There are a lot of sushi reataurants but most of the restaurants don't have Japanese staff,so it is different for Japanese people.
What do you think about it? Are you sad?
Don't worry,now I will explain what is real sushi.
There is the difference between Japanese sushi and foreign sushi.
In forein people's idea
- Sushi is NOT expensive
There are a lot of "all you can eat" sushi restaurants in Canada.
But every restaurants is run by the Chinese.
Sadly,the taste is really different,especially,rice is quite different.
- Most of the Japanese can make sushi
After I came Canada,I am asked if I can make sushi many times.
Actually,sometimes we do sushi party.(we call it Temaki sushi.)
But,basically,sushi is not homemade dish.
We usually go to sushi restaurants or buy sushi in market.
In Japanese people's idea
- Sushi is expensive
All Japanse people think basically sushi is expensive.
Because they have to use fresh fishes and fresh fishes is expensive even though it is in Japan.
In addition to that,we eat a lot of kinds of fishes. Not only salmon.
- Sushi is made by professional chef
Usually,sushi is made by a professional chef.
According to a tradition,it takes 3years to be able to make sushi rice correctly and then it takes 8years to be able to make sushi correctly,so they have to spend 11years to become a professional chef.
But there are also cheap sushi restaurans.(We call it "Kaiten sushi":It mean coveyor belt sushi)
They cut cost of employee and some restaurant use machines to make sushi,so we can enjoy sushi cheaper. Taste is okay.
As a conclusion,what is real sushi.
Japanese traditional sushi have to be
・Look beautiful
Appearence is also important.
・Simple
Sushi is the food that enjoy harmony fishes and rice.
・Deep taste
Sushi is not made of a lot of ingredients,but taste is very deep.
